Wireless Adjuster course (Level II)

Wireless Adjuster Course Description

Wireless Adjuster Exam Objectives

Take the Wireless Adjuster Exam

** The Wireless Adjuster course counts for 16 hours of Continuing Education (CE) credit toward renewing your CWNE certification. **

The instructor will use WiFi Explorer Pro (MacOS only) for instruction, so using a MacBook and WiFi Explorer Pro is highly recommended.

  * If you are using MacOS Catalina, please upgrade to the latest version (due to Wi-Fi bug fixes). If you are using a MacBook Pro 2018 (15-inch), contact me for additional information.
  * Students that use Windows 10 may use MetaGeek’s inSSIDer, WinFi, and/or Acrylic WiFi Professional, though all are currently missing some important features.
  * We also recommend that students that intend to use Windows-based scanners familiarize themselves with those scanners before class.

For ONLINE classes, students will not need the WLANpi or DBx adapters. Note that students using WinFi are not currently able to connect remotely into the live labs, so they will use preconfigured captures instead.

Wi-Fi networks can be complicated. The 802.11 protocol is complicated. Understanding how to use inexpensive WLAN scanning tools to quickly and efficiently assess and remediate the first 80% of WLAN connectivity, performance, and security problems will save your organization an enormous amount of time and money. This course pays for itself the very first time your WLAN experiences a problem due to best-practice misconfiguration. If you are a consultant, this course will make you more money than any other in the Wi-Fi market. In this course you will combine knowledge of the 802.11 protocol, RF spectrum, amazing new WLAN scanning tools, and detailed troubleshooting processes. This course is 75% lab time, uses the newest analysis tools, and guarantees to catapult you forward in WLAN troubleshooting in only two days.

ITEMS TO BRING TO CLASS: 1) Macbook running MacOS (very recent version) or a Windows-based laptop running Windows 10, 2) WLANpi with Comfast CF-912AC (or other compatible) WiFi adapter, 3) USB hub, and 4) OPTIONAL: MetaGeek DBx adapter (bring yours if you have one). Contact me at Devin[at]DivDyn.com for hardware discount information after class registration. We have a small number of spare WLANpi and DBx adapters in case you cannot provide your own, but please bring your own if possible.

WLAN Administration and Operation (CWNA)

5 days (Mon-Thu 8:30am – 5:00pm, Fri 8:30am – 12:00pm)

Administering an enterprise-class WLAN is no small matter. The amount and depth of knowledge required is sometimes overwhelming. The Divergent Dynamics WLAN Administration and Operation course thoroughly covers all aspects of the CWNP Program’s CWNA exam objectives and offers hands-on labs with the latest RF design software. Targeting network administrators, network consultants, and field/systems engineers, support engineers, and other folks who are familiar with networking, but new to WiFi, this course covers an amazing amount of information in just one week. If your goal is to administer/operate an enterprise WLAN, then this course is for you.

This course is offered in private-class format only.
If you would like for me to teach this course at your facility, please contact us for pricing and dates.

WLAN Security (CWSP)

2 days (8:30am – 5:00pm)

Do you know how to assess the vulnerability of a network and to prevent attacks before they happen? Do you have experience configuring a Wireless Intrusion Prevention Systems (WIPS)? Have you implemented 802.1X/PEAP using RADIUS, LDAP, and an on-boarding system for BYOD? Today’s wireless network security professionals need a thorough understanding of the latest protocols, diagnostic tools, and trends. Security professionals are expected to advise on security policies, to design/deploy secure Wi-Fi systems across a variety of vertical markets and customer types, and to validate the security of a variety of Wi-Fi system types. The Divergent Dynamics WLAN Security course thoroughly covers all aspects of the CWNP Program’s CWSP exam objectives. Targeting network administrators, network consultants, and field/systems engineers, support engineers, and other folks who are familiar with networking, but new to Wi-Fi, this course covers an amazing amount of information in just two days. If your goal is to design, deploy, and validate enterprise secure WLAN systems, then this course is for you.

WLAN Analysis and Remediation (CWAP)

3 days (8:30am – 5:00pm)

WLAN analysis and remediation can take years to master due to the complexity of the 802.11 protocol, but a solid understanding of 802.11 protocol analysis is essential to designing and troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks. Nowhere will you get a better start than with the Divergent Dynamics WLAN Analysis and Remediation course. All parts of the 802.11 protocol PHY and MAC are covered in detail, including frame formatting, frame types, frame exchanges, and system configuration, as part of the CWNP Program’s CWAP exam objectives. This course focuses on the 802.11 protocol, where much of the classroom time is spent reviewing frame contents and frame exchanges using a protocol analyzer and learning to troubleshoot Wi-Fi network problems with a protocol analyzer. This course targets support engineers, field/systems engineers, WLAN consultants, and WLAN architects, and the depth of this course is extraordinary. You won’t get this depth of content anywhere else.

This course is offered in private-class format only.

WLAN Design and Validation (CWDP)

4 days (8:30am – 5:00pm)

If you want to be a WLAN Architect (a top-level WiFi expert) then this course is for you. It goes deep. This is an advanced course, not suitable for beginners. The Divergent Dynamics WLAN Design & Validation course covers all parts of WLAN design, deployment, validation, optimization, and documentation, and it thoroughly covers all aspects of the CWNP Program’s CWDP exam objectives. Targeting WLAN administrators, independent consultants, and field/systems engineers, this course assumes attendance in the Divergent Dynamics WLAN Administration and Operation course, CWNA certification, or equivalent knowledge.  The goal of attending this course is to learn how to perform all aspects of vendor-agnostic advanced WLAN design, deployment, validation, and optimization and to leave the class with the processes, sample documentation, and tools to be immediately productive as a WLAN Architect. In a nutshell, this course doesn’t teach you “about” WLAN Design and Validation, but rather gives you the hands-on instruction for actually performing WLAN Design and Validation. The course has many lab exercises to assure that you leave the class having done exactly what you’ll be asked to do on your very next project. All courseware is included in the price of the class and is provided on the first day of class.

This course is offered in private-class format only.
